PBT = Polybutylene Terephthalate - the white body of the cup. It's the same family as the PET*ABS we just talked about, but PBT is harder and more heat-resistant, which is why they use it for kids mugs. It won't shatter like ceramic, it holds up to ∼100-120°C, and it keeps that enamel-like glossy look.
The ",A" = Antibacterial grade. In Japanese tableware specs it usually means an antibacterial agent is mixed into the resin. You'll often see it written as PBT・抗菌 (PBT Antibacterial). It's not a different plastic, it's just PBT with silver-ion or similar antibacterial additive.
So for the hedgehog mug in your photo:
- Lightweight, kid-safe, won't break if dropped
- Dishwasher safe on low temp is usually OK
- Not microwave safe - PBT mugs with printed design like that will blister / the print will peel
- Don't use abrasive scrubbers, the green rim and black print are on top of the PBT base
- Heat limit around 100°C, so warm milk / water is fine, but don't pour straight boiling water and leave it
