Toyo Sasaki Glass - Cold Sake Set with Gold Leaf (Made in Japan)
"Gold leaf / gold foil decoration embedded in glass - decorative, not solid gold."
Materials: Handcrafted Glass, Gold Leaf and it's sold as Gold Foil / Gold Leaf set
- The gold is kinpaku / gold leaf foil embedded inside the glass during production, not a plating on the outside. That's why you see the sparkle scattered through the clear glass.
- Toyo Sasaki and most Japanese sake glass makers use either a very thin genuine gold leaf (a tiny amount for color) or a brass-based imitation gold foil for this price range. It's meant for luxury look, not metal value.
- No special care for real gold — it's sealed in glass, so it won't tarnish, but you shouldn't put it in dishwasher / microwave and avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Set includes: 1x carafe / tokkuri - 300ml, 2x sake cups / ochoko - 80ml each
- Material: Semi-leaded crystal glass with embedded blue color and gold leaf / gold flecks (kinpaku) decoration
- Design: Clear hammered-texture glass with a large translucent blue patch on the lower side of the carafe and gold glitter at the bottom. The cups match with scattered blue and gold speckles.
It's a decorative Japanese cold sake glassware set - carafe + 2 cups - designed for serving chilled sake, but also sold as a craft gift / art glass set.
This chilled sake set has a dignified appearance, enchanted by the brilliance of the gold leaf.
The contrast between the deep blue and gold leaf on the transparent glass enhances the delicate color of sake.
The carafe with ice pocket allows you to enjoy chilled sake in a relaxed manner without diluting the sake.
It makes an ideal gift for those who are particular about their sake.
